About Matt Martin

I've been working in the Toy & Gift industry for many years now. I can honestly say that I wouldn't want to do anything else. It's a great business to be in and every day is different.

I gained my initial sales experience working in several different industries. My first selling job was at the age of 13 when I got a job on the local market selling car accessories. When I left school I worked for Debenhams for a while in the Toy department. At the time I had no idea that the Toy business would one day be the basis of my own business.

My real selling career started when I joined Guinness Brewing as an area sales manager. The FMCG business is fast and furious so its a great grounding for a sales person.

I moved in to toys in 1997 and worked my way up to the position of UK Sales Manager with a leading toy manufacturer, until becoming a freelance agent in 2011.

As an agent, One of my favourite parts of the job is new product launches. Whether its new items being added to my existing clients ranges or a completely new range being brought to market, It's great to be able to seek out the right retailers to stock the products.
